  • Johnnyswim's Evolution...

    By Adrialise
... and thanks for letting us come along for the ride!! I get nervous when my favorite artists release new music - What if it's awful!? *BIG SIGH OF RELIEF* This album is amazing. It truly is an evolution from their past albums and to me, that's a great thing. Seeing an artists evolution in their music is something special, but with Johnnyswim you get the added treat of being a witness to their evolution as people. You get a tiny sneak peek into their life and love and friendships - and their cute babies. Yes, the sound is a bit different, but fear of change stifles creativity. I think being open allowed this beautiful album to grow. While there is a bit more production on 'Moonlight,' nothing is lost in it. Their lyrics are as powerful as ever and a few of the songs are so raw it's tough not to shed a tear (even on the 20th listen.) Women all over the world wish they were named Amanda. I've never even been married and 'Same Old Thing' is absolutely gut wrenching to listen to. Flowers is so relateable. Souvenir is a fun sound that chorus is dedicated to every ex ever. The song 'Moonlight' is probably one of the biggest departures from their previous sound with the added production, but man - that song is a banger. (Can a ballad be a banger? Apparently.) Ultimately, a very well done album that I've had on repeat since it dropped. Bravo! Can't wait for the next one!
  • Moody, hushed, and slow

    By Jvogel.mcwi
I love Johnnswim. I am an early adopter and have seen them live a few times. They are dynamic, melodic, crafters of music. And each of them are legitimately powerful singers. Unfortunately, this latest record has muted all that is genius about the duo. The pacing is slow. The beat is hushed. The voices are quiet. It's rather boring. I'll keep listening to the prior works. And trust that the next record after this will come alive again.
  • Magic together!

Amanda and Abner are incredible together. Sounding great and always taking us on a musical Journey. Amanda your mom (the icon, Donna Summer) may she RIP, is so very proud of you and so is your Dad (the amazing Bruce Sadano aka Brooklyn Dreams from the 70’s) they also had magic together! “Heaven Knows” they gained in angel with Mom. Thank you for a stellar album!

Like mother (Donna Summer) like daughter. This is currently my favorite album. Abner & Amanda are at it again with this fantastic album. If you haven’t already seen these two live, you have no idea what you’re missing.
